VMware recently surveyed 2,265 of our customers and here is what was found:

• VMware customers are looking for more than a hypervisor.  In fact, many of them deploy the entire VMware Infrastructure 3 stack to transform their infrastructure into shared utility
• When selecting software, ease of virtual machine management, product performance, and stability are the most important selection criteria to our customer
• Customers have upgraded or plan to upgrade to VMware Infrastructure 3 by the middle of 2007
• VMware Infrastructure is decidedly a mainstream technology
• Customers report significant benefits as a result of a VMware Infrastructure deployment
• VMware Infrastructure has generated unprecedented levels of customer satisfactions

Customer Are Looking for More Than a Hypervisor

VMware Infrastructure is Decidedly a Mainstream Technology

43% are standardizing on VMware Infrastructure, i.e. the default provisioning policy for new infrastructure is a virtual machine 60-80% are deploying enterprise applications and databases in virtual machines 61% believe that in 3 years, more than half of their x86 infrastructure will be virtualized

VMware Customers Report Significant Benefits
